you are a child of the universe...

So I went ahead and did what I promised myself I'd never do. I've made a blog...about my child. In my former life, I would've thought, "gross" after reading that sentence. However, my daily life (while my glorious maternity leave is still in session, that is) now includes changing french's golden mustard poops, taking naps, playing the staring game, and having this little person always at my boob. My...how things have changed. Or not really, because I was still at the bar on the Upper East Side on St. Pattys Day, just accompanied by my new partner in crime, my lil three week old leprauchan. So, this blog will mainly be a place for friends and family to check in and see updated pictures and goings-on of one Desi Marie, and her mommy, and her loud loving family, and her crazy 'aunts' and 'uncles' (mommy's friends) and when she makes some, her own friends!


A cupcake is born in Brooklyn...



So, I was in labor for 22 hours (bc I'm a CHAMP!) eventually, when Dr. Arnouk (best OB ever!) told me I hadn't dilated past 4 cm's after 6 hours at the hospital (with birth blessing necklace in tow) and meds to help along, we collectively decided to get things going and have a C-section. It wasn't an emergency at that point, and both Doc and I wanted to make sure it didn't become an emergency situation. So... at 12:40am on February 23, 2010, Desi Marie was born!



She was a healthy 9.1 lbs and 20.5 inches!
